Nicky was born in Ireland and after his BComm at University College Dublin, qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. Nicky worked as a Management Consultant with PWC in California before joining Oracle in 1990 where he Managed their Global Internal Audit Group from HQ and then moved to Budapest in 1993 to help Oracle set up subsidiaries in Eastern Europe.
In 1998, Nicky led Oracle’s Globalisation initiative where he simplified, standardized, automated and centralized Oracle’s Business processes into a Business Services Centre with 500 people in Dublin, Ireland. Nicky has been CEO of Oracle in both Ireland and South Africa and in 2008, ran Oracle’s Communications business in Middle East & Africa.
After 23 years with Oracle, Nicky changed direction and is spending the latter years of his career as CEO of Christel House, which is an independent School in Cape Town for impoverished Children. Through a holistic model where they provide 360—degree support for their Learners, Christel House achieves incredible results with 2/3rd of Matric Students earning Bachelor passes and 95% of Graduates Studying or gainfully employed.
